Artist’s Statement
Sarah Noël lives and works by the sea on the rural Gower Peninsular. She was born and brought up in Mumbles, gaining a BA(Hons) degree in Ceramics at Bristol Polytechnic. Sarah is fascinated by the powerful imagery of Medieval Art, imbued with solemn spirituality. She finds the same beguiling qualities in European and American Folk Art.
In her work, Sarah is concerned with expressing mankind’s spirituality and human condition. Her work springs from these influences. She uses images such as boats, the sea, birds, other animals and figures, trees, musicians and angels to be symbolic of spirituality.
